Careers - Come and Work with Us!
Join an innovative, forward-thinking firm
We are always on the lookout for fresh, vibrant personalities to join the team at Effective Accounting. Being one of the few fully digital accountancy firms in the UK, we put our clients at the heart of everything we do, and we pride ourselves on being hardworking and conscientious. While we are committed to doing the best we can for our clients, we enjoy working in a relaxed, informal environment where a realistic approach to work-life balance is key.
We do things a little differently here…
The team enjoys flexible working, with full-time hours being only 35 per week – though we are committed to reducing our full-time hours to 30 hours by 2021.
Dress code is business-casual – we don’t do suits and ties!
Remote working opportunities are offered, though our stunning offices are just a stone’s throw from the picturesque River Great Ouse – one of Britain’s most scenic rivers – and have beautiful panoramic views (alongside free parking – result!). We are just ten minutes from the centre of Milton Keynes, which offers convenience without being surrounded by the hustle and bustle of the busy business district.
Oh, and we have an epic coffee machine…
A tech-savvy, fully digital accountancy firm, we are on the lookout for people who are passionate about the power of technology and apps
Since 2017, the team has been heavily focused on making use of all digital software and tools to transform and drive the business forward, offering a tech-powered service to their clients. In June 2019, Nicola was approached to be a member of the advisory board of the Digital Accountancy Show, the UK’s leading free event dedicated to digital accountancy, apps and technology.

Our recruitment process
So that we can get a feel for the type of person you are, we will initially set up an informal conversation either by phone or video call.
If we think you’d be a good fit at Effective Accounting (and, of course, if you like us!), we will invite you to our fully converted barn offices in the heart of the idyllic Buckinghamshire countryside for a face-to-face chat. If relevant to the role you’re applying for, we’ll ask you to undertake a small practical task to gauge your working style.
We aim to keep all candidates informed throughout the recruitment process – after all, nobody enjoys waiting around for a response!
